More about us

PUC at Oxford — engineered for results, not for show

If you're in Class 10 and dreaming of MBBS, BDS, BTech, or any of the engineering branches at IITs / NITs / KCET colleges — your two PUC years are the most important academic years of your life. Get them right and entrance exams take care of themselves. Get them wrong and you spend a year (or three) in coaching trying to recover.

Oxford Pre-University College, Kalaburagi is built for one thing: helping science-stream students from North Karnataka clear NEET, JEE Main & Advanced, KCET, COMEDK, BITSAT — and finish their II PUC board with marks that don't compromise their entrance scores.

Streams offered

PCMB — Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Biology

For students aiming at medical entrance (NEET-UG → MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BUMS, BHMS, BSc Nursing, AIIMS, JIPMER) and engineering as a backup. Maths is included so students retain the option of KCET / JEE / B Pharma routes if NEET doesn't go to plan.

PCMC — Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Computer Science

For students aiming at engineering entrance (JEE Main → JEE Advanced → IIT, NIT, IIIT, KCET → state engineering colleges, COMEDK → top private engineering, BITSAT → BITS Pilani / Goa / Hyderabad). Computer Science as the fourth subject opens BTech CSE branches and gives an early head-start on programming.

What "integrated coaching" actually means at Oxford

We don't run PUC during the day and outsource your coaching to a separate institute in the evening. That model wastes hours commuting and creates a gap between school theory and entrance practice.

Instead, our integrated programme weaves NEET / JEE patterns into PUC classes from Day 1:

  • Concept-first PUC syllabus — board-aligned but taught at entrance-exam depth
  • Daily problem-solving — at least 30 minutes of NEET/JEE-style questions per subject per day
  • Weekly chapter tests — pattern matches NEET/JEE, marks tracked, parents notified
  • Monthly mock exams — full-length NEET / JEE Main / KCET papers with national-percentile reports
  • Weekend doubt-clearing labs — small-group sessions, faculty available 8 hrs/day on Saturdays

By the end of II PUC you've sat through 40+ full-length mock exams in the same conditions as the actual NEET / JEE — that experience matters more than any last-minute crash course.

Faculty and approach

Faculty drawn from Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Bidar — most have taught at Allen, Aakash, FIITJEE, or BYJU's classroom programmes. We pay above-market because retaining good Physics and Maths faculty is the single biggest predictor of student outcomes in PUC science.

We do not believe in the "harsh classroom" model. Discipline yes, fear no. Students who are afraid of their teachers don't ask questions, and students who don't ask questions don't clear NEET. Faculty are accessible, doubt-clearing is institutionalised, and bullying or shaming has no place at Oxford.

Hostel — for students from across the district

Kalaburagi is the educational hub of the Hyderabad-Karnataka region — students come to us from Bidar, Yadgir, Raichur, Koppal, Vijayapura, Wadi, Sedam, Aland, Chittapur, and Chincholi. We run a separate hostel for boys and girls with mess facilities, supervised study hours, and Wi-Fi access. Hostel students get an extra 2 hours of supervised study per day — this consistently improves results.

Admissions — book your seat

PUC seats fill fast at Oxford because we cap each section to maintain a teachable student-faculty ratio. Once a section is full we don't add more chairs.

  1. Reserve with a token. ₹5,000 refundable. Locks your seat and stream.
  2. Submit Class 10 marks. SSLC, CBSE, or ICSE results — provisional acceptable.
  3. Document set. 10th marksheet, transfer certificate, study certificate, Aadhaar, photographs, caste certificate (if applicable).
  4. Pay first-year fees. Online or at campus. Bank loan tie-ups available.
  5. Orientation week. Meet faculty, get the year planner, syllabus tracker, and your batch.

Why parents from Kalaburagi district choose Oxford

  • Local but not parochial. You don't have to send your 16-year-old to Hyderabad or Bangalore for entrance prep — we do it here, with the same quality faculty, at half the cost.
  • Accountable. Monthly progress reports go to parents. We don't hide weak students.
  • Honest. We don't promise IIT or AIIMS to every student. We promise our best teaching, real mock-test data, and an honest conversation about which colleges are realistic.
  • Token system. Refundable. No "non-refundable booking fees" or pressure tactics.

Frequently asked

  • What is the eligibility for PUC admission at Oxford Pre-University College?

Class 10 pass (SSLC / CBSE / ICSE / state board) with minimum 60% aggregate for general category, 35% for SC/ST/OBC. Provisional admission is offered to students awaiting Class 10 results — final admission confirms once results are out.

  • Which streams does Oxford PU College offer?

Two science streams: PCMB (Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Biology) for medical aspirants, and PCMC (Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Computer Science) for engineering aspirants. We do not currently offer Commerce or Arts streams — our focus is depth in science.

  • Are NEET, JEE, and KCET coaching included in the PUC fees?

Yes. Integrated coaching is part of the regular curriculum, not an extra. PCMB students get integrated NEET + KCET coaching; PCMC students get integrated JEE Main, JEE Advanced, KCET, and COMEDK coaching. There is no separate coaching fee — it's all bundled into the PUC fees.

  • What are PUC fees at Oxford Pre-University College, Kalaburagi?

Approximately ₹55,000 per year, including integrated NEET / JEE / KCET coaching, lab fees, library, and weekend mock-test access. Hostel and mess are charged separately. Final fees vary year on year — call us after Class 10 results for a written quote.

  • Do I get NEET coaching during PUC at Oxford?

Yes. NEET coaching is integrated into the PUC PCMB curriculum from Day 1 — daily NEET-pattern problem-solving, weekly chapter tests, and monthly full-length mock NEET papers with national-percentile reports. By the end of II PUC, our PCMB students have completed 40+ full-length mock NEET exams.

  • How does Oxford compare to coaching institutes like Allen, Aakash, or FIITJEE?

Allen, Aakash, and FIITJEE are coaching-only institutes — students attend a separate PUC college during the day and coaching in the evening. Our integrated model combines both under one roof, taught by faculty who often previously taught at those very institutes. The advantage: no commute, no syllabus mismatch, no fragmentation. Cost is roughly half of separate-coaching arrangements in Hyderabad or Bangalore.

  • Is hostel accommodation available?

Yes. We have separate hostels for boys and girls with mess, supervised study hours (2 extra hours of monitored prep per day), and Wi-Fi. Hostel students consistently outperform day scholars at NEET / JEE in our results data — the daily routine and removed distractions make a measurable difference. Mess includes vegetarian and non-vegetarian options.

  • When do PUC admissions open and close at Oxford?

PUC I admissions typically open in March-April after SSLC / Class 10 results begin to release. Seats fill on a first-come basis since we cap each section. Provisional admissions are accepted from students awaiting results. Late admissions are possible up to mid-July with a one-time late-joining fee, subject to availability.

  • What if I'm coming from CBSE or ICSE — will I struggle with Karnataka PUC?

No. Our integrated coaching is national-level (NEET / JEE), and the Karnataka PUC syllabus aligns closely with NCERT. CBSE and ICSE students typically do as well or better than state-board students in PUC because they're already used to NCERT-style depth. We accept transfer / migration certificates from any board.

  • What kind of results does Oxford PU College have?

Year-on-year, our PCMB and PCMC students consistently place in the top deciles of Karnataka KCET, with multiple students cracking NEET cut-offs for government MBBS / BDS / AYUSH seats and JEE Main cut-offs for NITs and KCET-COMEDK engineering. Detailed results data with names is shared during the campus visit (we don't post student names publicly for privacy reasons).
